飛依 兎萌花 (Tomoka Hiyori)
飛依 兎萌華 (ひより ともか), romanized Tomoka Hiyori, roughly means “Needing-to hop Rabbit-flower-bud.” Her first name can also be read as “moe (cute and defenseless) rabbit flower.” Either way, she’s just as adorable as her name!
Tomoka is a 2nd year in high school. She’s the nurses aide and loves helping out whenever she can. She’s not as popular as you might think because she’s dating one of her less likeable classmates.
Tomoka stands by environmentalism, and she herself is a vegan. Her first name references rabbits, who are symbolic of animal rights, especially those relating to beauty products, makeup, and makeup accessories. She prides herself in being cute and loves makeup, but only uses cruelty free and vegan products.
She might be vegan, but she doesn’t want to pressure others. She knows going vegan is only one way to help the environment; there are lots of other ways. She just wants to help others learn what they can do to save the Earth!
Tomoka has two pet bunnies: Love (ラブ) and Peace (ピース), American Polish sisters. Love is albino, and has white fur and red eyes. She was chosen out of the litter because albino bunnies aren’t as popular as other bunnies, and was named “Love” to symbolize love across all colors, including a lack of color. Peace’s fur is spotted white and red. She was named “Peace” to symbolize no matter how different we may seem, we are all pieces of a whole.
She chose American Polish bunnies over more accessible breeds in Japan because of their gentle and loving nature, small size, and they used to be bred for their meat, a fact that made her want to protect them.
